Introduction to the Course:

This Course provides some general overview on Coal: Origin – Ranking/Analysis- World resources and reserves- mining techniques- Industrial uses - Coal & Power binomial – Combustion features and industrial clean technologies - CO2 emission problematic : reduction and CCS processes – Coal Power generation economics.

Course Aims: The aims of this Course are to:

- coal a commodity and a primary fuel for Power Generation

- some skill and understanding on basic issues & problematic linked

COURSE TITLE : Oil & Gas and Energy Global Issues

Introduction to the Course:

This Course provides an introduction to the global energy issues, the links between energy and global economy, the challenges to develop clean and renewable energy. It addresses the decision making process for energy investment, and the main features of oil, gas, nuclear and renewables as well as climate change challenges. Coal is covered by Professor Michel Valdelièvre.

Course Aims: The aims of this Course are to:

- the basis issues of the energy sector, present situation and perspectives

- understanding and skill on these basis issues
