In May 2017, I was fortunate enough to be a member of the interns in France. Nervous but exciting, I came to Fontainebleau and the CTP Laboratory at MINES ParisTech.

"枫丹白露" is a name translated by Mr. Zhu Ziqing. Its French expression Fontainebleau was evolved from "fontaine belle eau", meaning "the beautiful spring water". It has lush forest and beautiful scenery here. It became famous in France for its role as a hunting place of the King. After that, in order to make it convenient for the King to hunt, the King built the world-famous Fontainebleau Palace here.

The scientific research every day during the internship was tense but happy. The supervisor Prof.Christophe was warm and conscientious. Every time when I encountered a problem, he patiently explained it to me. His serious attitude toward science and enthusiasm with life impressed me.

Working now in the same laboratory with students from different parts of the world, I learned about various cultures of different countries. Meanwhile, their enthusiam dispersed my feeling of being on foreign soil. I am very grateful to them for helping me quickly adapt myself to the life in French and in the laboratory.

Here I am really grateful to the China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy at Huazhong University of Science & Technology (ICARE) for providing me with this internship opportunity so that I can have access to advanced technologies, appreciate different cultures and broaden my horizons. I really hope that ICARE can develop better and better and that the ICARE students can make their own contribution to China's new energy cause.
