ICARE Winter Camp Team Visited Guglielmo Marconi University

At 9:30 in the morning of December 3rd , 2018, Ms. Kou Fangling led the winter camp team to Guglielmo Marconi University in Italy for an exchange. Professor Enrico Bocci of Guglielmo Marconi University, Dr. Mariagrazia Eleuteri of Interuniversity Research Center for Sustainable Development (CIRPS), Dr. Luca Del Zotto, Dr. Federica Verde and Dr. S. Innocenti of Guglielmo Marconi University participated in the exchange.



Professor Bocci first gave a brief introduction to CIRPS and Guglielmo Marconi University and then ICARE students resented their research contents. The five students reported contents including new solar cells, smart grid, refrigeration and cryogenic engineering, aerodynamic simulation, geographic information technology, life cycle analysis and other fields related to new energy. Professor Bocci gave comments and suggestions one by one. He also introduced the main projects and research results of his laboratory. His research interests include catalytic cracking of biomass to produce hydrogen and fuel cell energy storage. Their laboratories have achieved good research and application results in the Human Oriented Sustainable Transport.



Later in Coffee Break, both sides discussed the feasibility of student internships, scientific research cooperation and online video teaching cooperation between the two sides and reached preliminary agreements.



CIRPS is a consortium of 100 outstanding universities led by 11 top Italian universities, bringing together more than 170 experts, professors, distinguished researchers and professionals. Since its establishment in 1988, CIRPS has been involved in coordinating local sustainable development projects and cooperating with universities, enterprises, governmental and international institutions and non-governmental organizations through research, education and training and the provision of scientific services. In addition to educational activities, it has gained rich experience in collaborating with international universities by coordinating and participating in a number of projects, including ICARE. Guglielmo Marconi University, which ICARE team visited, is also an important cooperation partner of CIRPS. Guglielmo Marconi University is an online university that provides students with high-quality courses through innovative communication technologies, thereby realizing the possibility of continuing learning without time and space constraints. It has a teaching network consisting of national center of distant learning and distribution center across Italy. Its goal is to create a new teaching model through the use of the Internet and digital technology that provides students with high-quality university courses.
