On October 19th -20th, 2019, the 6th China Graduate Energy Equipment Innovation Design Competition Finals was held at China University of Petroleum (East China) in Qingdao, Shandong. Since its launch in April, the contest has attracted 151 colleges and universities, 1,075 teams and 4,393 contestants to participate in the competition. After the judging, 292 teams from 121 universities across the country entered the finals. The works of "Li Solar-Biomass Coupled Gasification Hydrogen Production Unit" by Li Siqin, Zhao Yujia, Jia Qian, Jiang Hao, Wu Guihao from ICARE won the 3rd prize in national finals through the fierce competition of online evaluation, exhibition board display and defense.

The 6th China Postgraduate Energy Equipment Innovation Design Competition was one of 11 thematic events of the “China Graduate Innovation Practice Series Competition” in 2019. It was guided by the Ministry of Education's Degree and Graduate Education Development Center, sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Science and Technology Center, co-sponsored by Shandong Provincial Education Department, China Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association, China Petroleum Education Association , supported by China University of Petroleum (East China), Qingdao West Coast New District, and Jereh Group. Focusing on improving the ability of postgraduate innovation and practice, the event was guided by the national strategic needs. In accordance with the concept of “competing talents, talents leading innovation, innovation-driven development”, the competition focused on the technological innovation of energy equipment and creating a platform for postgraduate innovation exchanges.
