Recently, the China Scholarship Council has announced a list of programs funded by the "international cooperation and training project for innovative talents" in 2021. Under the scope of international cooperation training project for innovative talents, ICARE has won the special funding with a 3-year duration for the construction of "double first-class" universities.

ICARE is a strong gathering of expertises in the field of clean and renewable energy: the project integrates the strongest disciplines of Huazhong University of science and technology, and various specialties of European institutes, such as the Centre for Energy Efficiency of Systems, Centre for Processes，Renewable Energies and Energy Systems and so on so forth.

With the ultimate goal to cultivate international innovative talents in the field of renewable energy, ICARE has provided special designed programs focusing on interdisciplinary frontiers, rich in theoretical innovation and practical operations.
