On September 7th afternoon, class 2018 opening ceremony was held in West building 5. Chinese Dean Pr. Luo Xiaobing, European dean Prof. Michel FARINE, Chinese Executive Director Mr. Yi Hui, European Executive Director Mr. Michel Aublant, director of Research Center Pr. Hu Song, director of Education Center Mrs. Liu Yang, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was conducted by a new ICARE student Ms. Sun Ruize.

　　At the beginning of the ceremony,representative of new students Shan Lianying expressed her future expectations as a fresh graduate student with a quite fluent English. Chinese dean Prof. LUO Xiaobing welcomed new students with a passionate speech, encouraged students to build capacity in all aspects of their three years of study, broaden their horizon, properly handle relationship between teachers and classmates, and expressed heartfelt blessing to all students. European dean Prof. Michel FARINE pointed out world’s demand for energy, current world environmental governance and explained the necessity of the development of clean energy.

　　Chinese executive director Mr.Yi Hui introduced ICARE and its development history, pointed out the importance of ICARE in the field of new energy, and stressed the importance of examination discipline. At the end, director of Education Center Ms. Liu Yang made an introduction of Chinese and European degree requirements, as well as specific details on issues such as policy of study abroad election, fellowships, and answered questions raised by students.
