On December 1st 2016, the fifth joint managerial committee was held successfully in ICARE. Director of educational department of graduate school HUST, Prof. Liu Jinsong, chaired the meeting. ICARE Chinese dean Prof. Luo Xiaobing, vice dean of Southeast University school of energy and environment Prof. Huang Yaji, Vice Dean of Wuhan University of Science and Technology School of Materials Science and Engineering Prof. Zhao Chunxia, ICARE project coordinator Prof. Didier MAYER, ICARE European co-dean Prof. Michel FARINE, Zaragoza university Prof. Inmaculada ARAUZO, attended the meeting. Executive Director of International office, Mr. Liu Junhua deputy director of international office Mr. He Gang, secretary of the communist party committee of school of energy and power engineering Prof. Chen Gang, also attended the meeting as observers.

　　Prof. Liu Jinsong introduced participants and agenda of the meeting. Most important point to discuss was ICARE sustainability after November 2017 when EU funding will stop. Prof. Didier MAYER described the project's 6 years history including financial view and proposed steps towards sustainability through a work plan for 2017. ICARE European co-dean Prof. Michel FARINE and Chinese co-dean Prof. Luo Xiaobing respectively made 2016 work report and HUST view and support for ICARE sustainability . Mr. Guillaume MACAUX made a thorough ICARE financial report.
