Academic integrity is fundamental of a university’s spirit. In recent years, the phenomenon of academic misconduct has occurred frequently in China of which the causes can be found in the weakness of academic integrity awareness of the academic society. To promote common values of academic honesty, our Institute held a lecture addressing this issue on November 18th afternoon.

The lecture started with a keynote speech by Mr.LI Zhitian, assistant to Director of Research and Consulting Center, with the theme of“Research integrity and Academic Standards”. He firstly introduced the significance of academic integrity, acts of academic dishonesty among postgraduate students and countermeasures against academic misconducts. Then, he analyzed some hotspot cases of academic misconduct and answered to the questions of students.

Later on, two excellent student representatives Wang Cong and Chen Xi shared their own research and learning experiences around the topics of "How to write a paper" and "How to succeed in course study in ICARE".

After that, all the students made honor pledges declaring that they will strictly abide by the academic standards and uphold the academic honesty. Then they signed their names on the integrity education promotional banner as well.

In the end, all the students were randomly divided into groups for academic integrity quiz questions & answers.

This lecture helped students realize the importance of academic integrity and that only those who value academic morality can achieve outstanding academic accomplishments.
