On September 25, 2021, The Innovation China Industry-University Integration Convention and 2021 China International Carbon Peak and Neutrality Summit Forum was unveiled in Wuhan East Lake International Conference Center. Under the guidance of China Association for Science and Technology, the forum was co-organized by China Renewable Energy Society, China Energy Research Society, Hubei Science and Technology Association, Wuhan Science and Technology Association and the Management Committee of Wuhan East Lake New Technology Development Zone. Government officers, experts and scholars, representatives of relevant leading enterprises and financial institutions were invited to discuss and exchange information around the "3060" Double-Carbon goal.

Prof.Yang Qing was invited to give a keynote speech entitled "Carbon Reduction Potential and Deployment Analysis of Biomass Negative Carbon Technology under Double Carbon Transformation" at the Sub Forum of Green Finance. Prof Yang Qing 's report mainly answered the question of how national and social capital should choose negative carbon technology, and introduced two key biomass based carbon negative emission technologies, namely biomass coupled carbon capture and storage (BECCS) and biochar (BC). She put forward that BC is a technology that is easier to implement in China in the near future, but its economy needs to be improved. On this basis, she proposed a new idea of biomass medium speed pyrolysis polygeneration (BIPP) coupling negative carbon, expounded the important impact of BIPP deployment on the realization of China's greenhouse gas emission reduction target, and analyzed the system economy and air quality cobenefits of national deployment of BIPP combined with biochar returning to the field. Finally, Prof. Yang Qing  shared some thoughts: 1. The research results of integrated assessment models show useful reference value; 2. Regional characteristics shall be considered in the deployment of carbon neutralization technology; 3. Achieving the least costly carbon neutralization path is inseparable from impartial multidisciplinary cooperation.

Later, Prof. Yang Qing participated in the Thematic Dialogue on Green Finance promoting the realization of the goal of "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutralization" in Hubei, and talked with experts and business leaders in the field of green finance and emerging energy technologies on the direction and development goal of green finance under the Dual Carbon goals. More than 70 students of ICARE attended the forum.
