On the afternoon of November 19, Professor Alain THOREL, the European Coordinator of ICARE and the course leader of Hydrogen Energy and Energy Storage, Professor Michel Cassir, Associate Professor Li Song, and Liu Yang, the Director of the Education Center, jointly discussed the development of Hydrogen Energy and Energy Storage module. The participating teachers suggested that measures such as expanding the scope of enrollment, increasing the number of students, enriching teaching auxiliary resources, improving student’s learning interest, integrating teaching contents, enhancing learning confidence, meeting market demand and closely following industry trends should be taken to attract excellent students to attend the study of new modules.

Based on the diversified cultivation of talents and meeting the individual needs of students, ICARE has elevated hydrogen energy and energy storage direction as one new track, aiming to further the institute's advantages in international resources and talents, serve the global carbon neutralization goal and enable the blueprint of hydrogen energy industry chain.

Many countries around the world actively participate in the realization of "carbon neutralization", and as the world's largest hydrogen producer, China gives great importance to the development of hydrogen energy, lists the hydrogen energy industry as a strategic emerging industry, and promulgates a number of policies to encourage innovation and investment. The development of hydrogen energy in France has also leapt into a critical period. Following the national strategy for the development of non hydrocarbon energy in France issued by the government in September 2020, the French president raised the development of hydrogen energy to the strategic height of revitalizing French industry in the "France 2030" investment plan announced last month, and plans to make France a leader in green hydrogen energy in 2030.
