Vice President Chen Jianguo visited ICARE

On the morning of May 14, Vice President Prof. Chen Jianguo led a team to visit ICARE. Chairman of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Prof. Yao Hong, Chinese Dean of ICARE, Prof. Luo Xiaobing, Vice Dean of ICARE, Dr. Zou Mingqing, and staff representatives attended the welcome meeting.


     Prof. Luo Xiaobing reported on the current situation, difficulties and challenges faced by ICARE. He stated that the institute would systematically summarize the experience in international talent development and actively explore new models of Sino-foreign cooperative education.

Prof. Yao Hong reported on how to improve the school’s governance system. He said that the School of Energy and Power Engineering, ICARE and the National Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion will further strengthen cooperation and further use the international school experience of ICARE in oreder to promote the traditional school running, explore the two-way drive of teaching and research to improve the quality of school running.

Dr. Zou Mingqing explained the recent progress in talent training, faculty development and social services. He said that ICARE will further promote the interaction of teaching and research between Chinese and European teachers and deepen the cooperation between schools and enterprises.

Prof. Chen Jianguo praised the achievements of ICARE. He affirmed ICARE's positive contribution to the international competitiveness of students, international influence and international attractiveness of the college. He pointed out the difficulties encountered in the reform and development of ICARE: Deepening the role as a platform, expanding the international "hardcore" partners, improving the tutorial management system of ICARE. At the same time, he expressed hope for ICARE's future development: the Institute should take the opportunity to promote the development of the energy discipline by strengthening international relations, education and research. In addition, the institute should actively participate in the construction of the college's international campus.
