On March 29th, 2024, the 6th Meeting of the China-EU high-level dialogue mechanism on people-to-people exchanges was held in Beijing. The meeting was attended by Chinese State Councillor, Ms.Chen Yiqin, and European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Ms.Illiana Ivanova. During the meeting, the achievements of ICARE were presented, and Prof. Luo Xiaobing, Chinese Dean of ICARE, participated in the exhibition of the achievements of China-EU high-quality cooperation in school running.

In March 2012, the Chinese Ministry of Education approved ICARE, a significant collaborative project between the Chinese government and the European Commission in the field of engineering education. The project was co-founded by 12 universities from both China and Europe, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Mines Paris-PSL (formerly named MINES ParisTech), aiming at  promoting education, science, technology, and cultural exchanges between China and Europe.
