On May 18th, 2024, the Chinese-foreign Joint Education Committee (CJEC) held a presidium meeting in Shanghai to implement the annual work plan further and promote the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative education. During the meeting, the list of excellent cases of Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions in 2024 was released, with 20 institutions being selected. These included the China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (ICARE), the Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJE), and the University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI).
ICARE, as one of the founding members of the CJEC, has served as the presiding unit for three consecutive terms. The Secretariat of CJEC has evaluated ICARE as "playing a model leadership role and establishing a good reputation for education." This recognition as an excellent example of high-level and exemplary Sino-foreign cooperative education once again demonstrates the positive recognition of ICARE's promotion and leadership in the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative education by its peers.
The CJEC was established in August 2014 under the guidance of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China. It includes the main leaders of Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions. Participants in this presidium meeting include the heads of CJEC, the heads of the presidency units, and the heads of the excellent case institutions.
