On the morning of May 31st, 2024, the graduation ceremony of ICARE class 2021 graduates, themed "Youth Never Ends," was grandly held in the conference room of the Clean Energy Building. The event celebrated the achievements of the graduates and their embarkation on a new journey in life. Prof. Luo Xiaobing, Dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering and Chinese Dean of ICARE, Dr. Sun Lu, Deputy Chairman of the Party Committee of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Dr. Zou Mingqing, Vice Dean of ICARE, Professor Ghanim Putrus and Professor Hu Song along with all administrative teachers and graduates attended the event.
The ceremony began with a video message from ICARE European Dean Prof. Michel Farine. He expressed his sincerest congratulations and best wishes to the class of 2021 graduates, saying, "Keep your eyes open and work for what the world needs. Keeping your knowledge up to date; lifelong learning is a must to adapt to new challenges. We are extremely proud of you and look forward to seeing the great achievements you will accomplish.”
Dr. Zou Mingqing congratulated the graduates on completing their studies and urged them to grow rapidly, have long-term plans, correct guidance, ambition, and a sense of responsibility. He also encouraged them to maintain a passion for knowledge, curiosity for technology, and pursuit of ideals. At the same time, he hoped that they would always consider ICARE as their strongest support and warmest home and grow and progress together with ICARE.
Prof. Hu Song gave a speech to all the 2024 graduates, advising them to find the right position, be honest in their dealings, and work steadfastly. He also hoped that they would continue to learn and enrich themselves persistently.
Prof. Ghanim Putrus expressed his hope that everyone would recognize that graduation was not the end of a task, but the beginning of using knowledge and skills to strive for the country and society. He wished everyone a bright and smooth future in a traditional Irish manner.
As the representative of the graduates, Lu Yixin spoke and shared his insights and experiences from the three years of postgraduate degree study. He expressed his gratitude and reluctance to part with his teachers and classmates, as well as his deep affection and best wishes for his alma mater and ICARE.
Professor Luo Xiaobing delivered a closing speech and presented graduation gifts to the graduates. He expressed hope that the students would remember the school motto of "Integrity, Diligence, Truth-seeking, and Innovation" and carry on the HUST tradition of being brave in competition and adept in transformation. He wished them not to lose sight of their aspirations and to always maintain a spirit of serving the country on their future journey.
This event was part of the graduation season series of activities titled "Youth Never Ends" organized by ICARE. It aimed to express deep concern and best wishes for all graduates, with a focus on guiding them to integrate their ideals into practical actions of gratitude to their alma mater.
