To foster academic exchange and share the research and learning experiences of exemplary students, ICARE organized an academic salon on October 24th, themed "Exchange and Sharing of National Award Winners' Learning Experiences." The event invited two senior students from the Class of 2022, both recipients of national scholarships, to share their learning journeys and engage in discussions, offering valuable research guidance and experiential insights for their peers.
The event began with Zhang Ze providing a detailed overview of how to conduct scientific research effectively, focusing on three key areas: paper writing, experimental design, and patent application. He vividly shared personal insights on balancing research, study, and life, offering students not only practical research advice but also meaningful perspectives on day-to-day challenges.
Next, Li Ruochen discussed techniques for reading academic literature, utilizing research software, and his experience in paper writing. His presentation was especially practical, focusing on how to quickly acquire essential skills during the early stages of research, providing students with critical guidance.
During the Q&A session, students eagerly posed questions, and the two seniors thoughtfully addressed topics related to research methods, international exchange opportunities, and more. The atmosphere was relaxed and engaging, with in-depth discussions that helped clarify many of the students' uncertainties in their academic and research paths.
This academic salon offered students valuable insights into effective research and learning strategies, further enriching their research perspectives and supporting their success in future endeavours. Participating students expressed that they gained a deeper understanding of research work and felt more confident in their research journeys ahead.
