COURSE TITLE: Introduction to biomass and bioenergy
Introduction to the Course:
This course introduces biomass and bioenergy: 1) Biomass resources evaluation and feedstock properties, 2) Biomass-to-energy conversion technologies and 3) Bioenergy applications.
Course Aims: The aims of this Course are to:
· Give an overall introduction to biomass feedstock as a renewable energy resource and the leading technologies developed for bioenergy exploitation.
· Introduce basic theories on resource evaluation and calculation methods for mass and energy balances in a biomass combustion boiler.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this Course, students should have gained:
· Knowledge: Fundamentals of biomass for energy applications.
