COURSE TITLE: Wind Energy

Introduction to the Course/课程介绍:

This Course provides an advanced explanation of Wind Turbine Aerodynamics, Static and Dynamic Loading of Wind Turbines, Aeroelasticity, advanced explanation of Wind Structure and Statistics, Evaluation of Wind Energy Potential, Wind Measurements and Measurement techniques in Fluid Mechanics.

Course Aims/课程目标: The aims of this Course are to:

·         Study aerodynamics and aeroelasticity of Wind turbines, wind potential, wake effect, integration issues

·         Develop skills on assessing external conditions for WT operation (normal and extremes), power performance of W/T, WT extreme and fatigue loading, assessing wind energy resource and deal with all the issues related with the design of a wind farm and integration issues.

·         Offer detailed information about Measurement Techniques in Wind energy and in Fluid Mechanics and experimental methods

By the end of this Course students should have gained:

·         Knowledge and Understanding/ 知识理解: Wind Aerodynamics of WT, extreme and fatigue loading of WTs
