ICARE Held Gala to Celebrate New Year

On January 8th, 2014 New Year Gala of ICARE was held in the teacher’s club. Chinese students and international students from Costa Rica, Germany, Surinam gathered together to greet the year of Horse. Pr. HUANG Shuhong, Chinese Dean of ICARE, Mr. FENG Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of Party Branch, School of Energy and Power Engineering, Pr. Claudio Margottini and other Chinese professors, ICARE staffs as well, attended the party. Wechat Public Platform was utilized to have everyone’s participation, including Alumni.

Pr. HUANG and GUO Hongjing, student representative from Class 2015 extended New Year messages to everyone firstly. The students who are studying in Ecole Polytechnique also delivered New Year greeting through VCR. Then programmes with dance, pop music, live comedy, Chinese drama and so on, were performed by students. The dance “New Dragon-boat Melody” performed by ICARE staffs spurred everyone's enthusiasm and created a cheerful atmosphere. Particularly, our Costa Rican student Gabriel Murillo Morales sang "La Bikina" in Latin and "I just called to say I love you" in English, in which the lyrics “How much I care” responded to the name of ICARE institute, expressed his sincere intentions.

Lasting for over two hours, the gala came to an end with flute playing, calligraphy writing and poetry reading. The joy of greeting a new year and the wish for a better year overwhelmed everyone’s heart.
