On the afternoon of December 12, Professor Ghanim Putrus and Dr. Edward Bentley, faculties from University of Northumbria and teaching Energy Conversion and Grid Control in ICARE, visited College of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (CEEE), HUST. Associate Professor Sun Haishun, faculty from Department of Electrical Engineering, Associate Professor Zhang Yu, faculty from Department of Application of Electronic Engineering as well as PhD. Chen Yu and other student of CEEE participated to the meeting.

Prof. Sun introduced the research team of CEEE, which includes research platform, 6 labs on smart grid key technology and achievements made in recent years. In renewable energy field, CEEE also made great achievements on the research of PV technology, wind energy materials etc. CEEE is going to transfer the knowledge into productivity to realize industrialization.

Both sides discussed optimal control system of small scale wind generation, smart power quality monitoring system, large scale wind generation grid control, and wind power generation intelligent control system of the future, which are all topics of common interest. The two sides also exchanged views on the perspective of intelligent control system of wind generation.
