At 18:00 of November 13, 2012, “Postgraduate Backbone Symposium for ICARE and School of Material Science and Engineering of Wuhan University of Technology”, which was planned by Public Relationship Department of ICARE of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was successfully held in the Classroom 303 Postgraduate Union Work-room of Education Centre of ICARE.

This symposium was held with Tian Xiang, Vice-chairman of ICARE Postgraduate Union, as the host. The guests present in this symposium included 11 Postgraduate Union backbone members of ICARE such as Chairman of Postgraduate Union Su Hang, etc. and 7 Postgraduate Union backbone members of School of Material Science of Wuhan University of Technology such as Chairman of Undergraduate Union Yang Shuang, etc.. Before commencement of symposium, Liu Yang, director of Education Centre, delivered a speech, and she firstly welcomed the students from Wuhan University of Technology on behalf of ICARE and then expressed her expectation that the symposium could be held successfully. The first part of this activity was to make brief self-introduction by the present guests; the second part was to discuss future activity forms which can promote exchange and communication among postgraduate backbone members from two schools; and the third part was to discuss how to establish future long-term correlation and communication mechanism, which can provide an exchange platform for subsequent students. After taking photos as a memento, all the present attended the lecture “Chalcogenide Thin Film Solar Cells: State of the Art and Perspectives”, one of lectures on energy held by ICARE on the subject of “initiate lectures on clean energy, light green dreams of youth”.

This symposium initially established a communication and interaction platform between two schools, enhanced communication between students from two schools and strengthened friendship between such students as well.
