On the afternoon of Nov.23rd, 2017, our flying Professor from University of Florence Enrico Pandeli led M1 students to visit Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences.
Yifu is a Museum of Natural Sciences which is a national 4A scenic spot with the theme of the origin and evolution of the earth and human being. It has been conferred as "National Education Base for Popular Sciences", “Youth Education Base of Science and Technology”, “National Paleontological Education Base” and “Wuhan Patriotic Education Base”.
Before entering the Museum, the students were introduced to the structure and the genesis of the four minerals which are on display at the entrance.
During this visit, Prof. Pandeli explained in detail the origin and the evolution of the earth, the structure, classification and formation of mineral deposits.
The students were guided to visit the five themed exhibition halls where treasure a complete system of geological specimens like jewels and exquisite jade, multicolored minerals and rocks, and also natural minerals that are essential to daily life.
This field practice experience enriched students' extracurricular life and stimulated their learning enthusiasm which also helped students to better understand and absorb their textbook knowledge.
