On the afternoon of April 19, 2022, Ms. Yiying Xiong, Deputy Director of the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, was invited to give an online academic lecture entitled "The Future of Hydropower and Energy Storage" to our students. More than 100 graduate students participated in the lecture.
Ms. Yiying Xiong introduced the advantages and disadvantages of hydropower in detail and focused on its impact of aquatic organisms. Then she shared the measures taken by the Great Lakes to protect aquatic organisms. At the end, she held a Q&A session for the audience.
