A research team led by Professor Luo Wei—a Chinese mentor at ICARE and faculty member at the School of Integrated Circuits—has achieved a significant milestone in the application of ABO₃ perovskite oxides for energy conversion. Their comprehensive review, titled “Perovskite Type ABO₃ Oxides in Photocatalysis, Electrocatalysis, and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: State of the Art and Future Prospects,” was recently published online in the prestigious journal Chemical Reviews.

The review is co-authored by Professor Wang Chundong and Professor Luo Wei from the School of Integrated Circuits, together with Professor Shao Zongping from Curtin University (Australia), who also serve as co-corresponding authors. Dr. Muhammad Humayun—formerly a postdoctoral researcher at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and currently an Assistant Professor at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia—is the paper’s first author. The School of Integrated Circuits and the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics are acknowledged as the primary contributing institutions.

This publication marks a major advancement in the team’s long-standing research focus on energy conversion, particularly in the field of electrocatalysis. Over the past three years, the group has produced a series of influential studies contributing to cutting-edge developments in clean energy technologies.
