The 7th Job Hunting Training Camp of China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy Successfully Held

To strengthen student career education and employment guidance, the China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy (ICARE) launched the 7th Job Hunting Training Camp. The opening ceremony took place in Room S311 at 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2026. The initiative aims to equip students with essential job-hunting skills and enhance their competitiveness in the employment market.

Distinguished attendees included Mr. Sun Lu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Energy and Power Engineering; Ms. Gan Yuanyuan from the HUST Career Guidance and Service Center; Mr. Xiao Chenxu, Assistant to the Director of the ICARE Research Office; Ms. Zhao Yiting, postgraduate counselor; Mr. Long Hai, Employment Assistant; and all postgraduate students from the Classes of 2024 and 2025. Ms. Zhao Yiting served as the host for the event.



The event began with a keynote speech by Mr. Sun Lu titled “Employment Training Camp Boosts Career Planning.” He underscored the pivotal role of employment in people’s livelihoods and its importance for high-level talents in the energy sector. ICARE has prioritized employment, and this year’s camp offers a variety of activities, such as policy guidance, job-hunting skills training, experience-sharing sessions, and corporate visits. In collaboration with the engineering and science faculties, ICARE will organize targeted job fairs and provide summer internship opportunities.



Mr. Sun highlighted the strong demand for talent in the energy industry and encouraged students to clarify their professional positioning and plan their career paths scientifically, while avoiding anxiety caused by information asymmetry. He noted that ICARE’s employment rate has consistently ranked among the highest at the university and expressed hope for students to secure high-quality jobs through the camp.


Ms. Gan Yuanyuan presented a data-driven analysis of employment outcomes. She reported that the Class of 2025 graduates achieved a notable employment destination fulfillment rate, with 70% entering key state-owned and central enterprises or Fortune Global 500 companies. The top three sectors were IT services, manufacturing, and Party and government organizations.


For job-hunting preparation, Ms. Gan advised students to create multiple versions of their resumes and self-introductions, compile the “nine essential job-hunting documents” early, and use Excel spreadsheets to track their application progress and standardize job-hunting email accounts. The camp will also facilitate interactions with corporate HR professionals, mock interviews, and group discussion exercises. Upon completion, students will gain access to job-hunting resources such as formal wear rentals based on participation.


Mr. Long Hai analyzed employment and further education data for the Classes of 2025 and 2026, drawing from previous training camp experiences. He discussed future career pathways from the perspectives of industry trends and job requirements and suggested practical channels for recruitment information, including updates on corporate websites and industry conferences.



In sharing job-hunting insights, Mr. Long emphasized the value of “taking initiative and positioning accurately,” urging students to leverage alumni networks and build interview experience.


Ms. Zhao Yiting provided a thorough overview of job hunting milestones and the procedures of the career counseling office, along with the training camp schedule. She reminded students about holiday safety and compliance with leave and return procedures, warning against scams such as cross-border fraud, concert ticket scalping, tutoring agency traps, and risks associated with online game accounts.

On managing mental stress, Ms. Zhao encouraged students to seek support from counselors or the university’s psychological center. She advised first-year postgraduate students to plan their research directions early, while second-year students should simultaneously advance their graduation theses and job preparation.


ICARE will continue to enhance its integrated career education system, blending courses, practice, and services. Through industry mentors, corporate visits, and competency workshops, ICARE aims to build a comprehensive platform for student development, balancing career aspirations with personal growth.
