ICARE’s Monolithic Integrated Optoelectronic Devices and Systems Team, led by Professor Tang Jiang and Associate Professor Chen Chao, recently made significant advances in one-dimensional chained materials. Their research, “Chained Materials: Definition, Understandings, and Applications,” was published online in Chemical Reviews on February 24, 2026. The team introduced the concept of “chained materials” and provided a comprehensive overview of their definition and applications.

The work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Key Research and Development Program projects. Associate Professor Lu Shuaicheng (National University of Defense Technology), Associate Professor Li Kanghua (HUST), and Professor Wang Liang (Shandong University) were the first authors, with Chen Chao and Tang Jiang as corresponding authors.
