On May 15, 2026, Prof. Fabrizio Dughiero, EU faculty member of ICARE and Director of the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Padua was recognized as an eminent citizen of his birthplace, Chioggia, Italy. The recognition, conferred by the local government, celebrates individuals born in the city who have made outstanding contributions to their hometown and society as a whole.

Prof. Dughiero received the award in recognition of his appointment as a visiting professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) over the past year, as well as his continuous efforts to foster international collaboration.

During the ceremony, Prof. Fabrizio Dughiero highlighted his collaboration network in China, particularly his partnership with ICARE-HUST in promoting talent development, teaching and research cooperation, and technology transfer.
