The 2026 “Career Guides to the Future” Joint Special Recruitment Fair of Six Engineering Institutes of Huazhong University of Science and Technology Was Successfully Held
From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00a.m. on Saturday, April 18, the 2026 “Career Guides to the Future” Joint Job Fair of Six Engineering Schools was successfully held in the exhibition hall on the fourth floor of the University Student Activity Center. Co-hosted by the School of Energy and Power Engineering, China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, this initiative marked an important effort by the six schools to integrate high-quality resources and provide targeted employment services for engineering graduates. Kong Shu, Deputy Director of the HUST Career Guidance and Service Center, was invited to participate in the event.
This special job fair closely aligned with the market demand for engineering talents and the development priorities of key national industries. A total of 40 major employers, including Shanghai Electric, China State Construction, Dongfeng Motor, CATL, and HiSilicon, were invited to participate. Covering core fields such as energy and power, new materials, electrical automation, mechanical engineering, and naval architecture and ocean engineering, the event offered more than 1,000 high-quality employment and internship opportunities, creating a diversified and high-quality job-matching platform for graduates. The fair attracted more than 800 students from the six engineering schools and related majors across the university. Students actively submitted resumes on site, while employers and job seekers engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding job requirements, career development, salary, and benefits, achieving efficient and precise talent matching.

To further expand the coverage and effectiveness of services, a special consultation zone for domestic and international further education was established during the event. Meanwhile, channels for sharing information related to further education, employment, and internships were opened, providing one-stop guidance for students with different development plans. In the consultation area, career guidance teachers and faculty members answered questions on site, addressing popular topics such as further education policies, university selection, and internship opportunities. A trinity service model integrating “employment connection + further education guidance + internship bridge” was established to fully meet the diverse development needs of graduates.

At the job fair, Kong Shu, Deputy Director of the HUST Career Guidance and Service Center, held cordial exchanges with recruitment directors from participating enterprises. She carefully inquired about recruitment needs, job settings, and expectations regarding talent cultivation, gaining an in-depth understanding of current employment trends in the engineering sector. She also communicated face-to-face with job-seeking students, listened attentively to their concerns and career plans, and encouraged them to build on their professional strengths, seize opportunities offered by high-quality positions, and align their personal development with national strategic needs. Kong Shu emphasized that engineering talents are a core driving force behind national scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading. HUST will continue to leverage the advantages of multidisciplinary collaboration, support schools and departments in building a “professional, refined, high-quality, and impactful” employment service brand, and help graduates achieve high-quality and full employment through the integration of university-enterprise resources and precise demand matching.

The atmosphere at the job fair was lively and enthusiastic. Graduates carrying carefully prepared resumes moved among the booths of various enterprises, engaging in detailed discussions with recruitment representatives regarding job responsibilities and career development pathways. After submitting their resumes, many students also visited the further education consultation area to learn about relevant policies. On-site interactions were active, while the overall organization remained orderly and efficient.

“The solid academic foundation, strong practical abilities, and rigorous work ethic of engineering graduates from Huazhong University of Science and Technology perfectly match our company’s talent requirements. This specialized job fair is highly targeted and efficient. We have received many high-quality resumes and hope to recruit more outstanding graduates to support technological innovation within our enterprise,” stated a recruitment representative from CATL during the event.
“We sincerely appreciate the university and schools for jointly organizing this special job fair. It has brought together leading enterprises such as HiSilicon and Shanghai Electric, and the positions offered are highly relevant to the career development paths of engineering majors. More than 1,000 vacancies have significantly broadened our choices. In addition, the further education consultation zone is highly practical and has provided us with diverse development suggestions,” said Wang, an undergraduate student from the School of Energy and Power Engineering, after submitting his resume.
This joint engineering job fair, themed “Career Guides to the Future,” represents a concrete practice of the university’s employment philosophy characterized by strong guidance, organized coordination, high-quality development, and refined management. It fully leveraged the collaborative strengths of the participating schools, accurately connected the core needs of enterprises and graduates, and effectively built an important bridge for university-enterprise talent cooperation.
Going forward, the six schools will continue to focus on the employment characteristics of engineering graduates, further deepen university-enterprise cooperation, expand high-quality job resources, and improve the integrated service system covering employment, further education, and internships. They will guide graduates toward careers in key sectors and strategic industries, contributing HUST’s engineering strength to China’s scientific and technological self-reliance and the advancement of Chinese modernization.

Deputy Party Secretaries, employment specialists, and graduating students’ counselors from the School of Energy and Power Engineering, China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering attended the event.
