On the afternoon of May 21, 2026, the 5th lecture of Job Hunting Training Camp: Career Tips to Clear Confusion -Empower Interviews with the Behavioral Interview Method, co-organized by the Career Guidance and Service Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the China -EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy (ICARE), was successfully held in Room N309 of the Clean Energy Building.

The event specially invited Ms. Lu Min, Head of Recruitment & HRBP for Investment and New Business at SUS ENVIRONMENT, as the keynote speaker.

Lu Min is a senior human resources specialist with over eight years of experience in talent recruitment and development. Currently working at SUS ENVIRONMENT, a leading domestic environmental and energy enterprise, she has long been in charge of core talent recruitment and business team support. Having interviewed more than a thousand candidates in practice, she has participated extensively in the construction of talent systems for multiple large-scale projects and has systematic insights into corporate interview evaluation frameworks and talent selection principles.

At the opening of the event, Lu Min began by explaining the fundamental logic of campus recruitment, guiding students to reflect on two core questions: “What kind of talent do enterprises demand?” and “What value can I bring to the table?” Drawing on the Iceberg Model, she explained in plain terms that, when recruiting fresh graduates, companies prioritize candidates’ underlying potential and career motivation over merely their visible knowledge and technical skills.

During the practical session on structured interviews, Ms. Lu systematically reviewed frequently asked campus recruitment questions and common pitfalls in responses. She focused on teaching the STAR-L framework, which structures complete answers across four dimensions: Situation description, Actions taken, Quantifiable Results, and Lessons & Reflections. This framework fully demonstrates candidates’ work attitudes and problem-solving capabilities. She particularly stressed that students should organically integrate their past experiences with future aspirations in their answers, enabling interviewers to recognize them as competent individuals with strong growth potential.

Additionally, Ms. Lu offered highly actionable advice on the candidate’s Q&A segment at the end of interviews: prepare three targeted questions in advance, with separate sets tailored for technical business interviewers and HR interviewers. Suitable topics include promotion pathways and business development directions, while ill-considered questions should be avoided so as not to miss opportunities to earn extra points. In closing, she encouraged all students to maintain a sound mindset, approach every interview with positivity and composure, and turn thorough preparation into solid self-confidence in interviews.

Subsequently, Ms. Lu Min gave a comprehensive introduction to SUS ENVIRONMENT. As a leading enterprise in China’s clean energy & environmental industry, SUS ENVIRONMENT operates multiple business divisions, with mature operational systems and extensive project experience in waste-to-energy incineration, kitchen waste treatment, sludge disposal and other fields.

She elaborated on the company’s current recruitment demands, well-defined promotion channels and progress in global expansion. Her presentation enabled students to gain a clearer and more intuitive understanding of SUS ENVIRONMENT’s business layout, job openings and career advancement prospects. It also provided a solid reference for students’ subsequent job-hunting decisions and career planning.
