On the morning of July 15, the closing ceremony of the “2026 Discover at HUST - Green Energy for a Zero-Carbon Future” International Summer School was held. ICARE Vice Dean Dr. Zou Mingqing, Chinese supervisors Prof. Li Xuemin and Shan Feng, together with more than 30 Chinese and international students and faculty members, attended the ceremony.

Dr. Zou Mingqing delivered a speech at the closing ceremony. He stated that the International Summer School was launched to build a platform for exchange and academic research for Chinese and international young people. Through a series of lectures and research activities, participants from different countries consolidated their professional knowledge and improved their practical capabilities. By living and studying together, they broadened their cultural horizons, deepened mutual understanding and recognized the importance of teamwork. 

He noted that addressing the global energy crisis requires cross-border collaboration, interdisciplinary innovation and cross-cultural exchange - a concept fully embodied by this Summer School. The Summer School enabled diverse cultures to interact throughout the programme, stimulating new energy for scientific research and innovation.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Zou presented certificates to the outstanding participants and offered his sincere best wishes. He encouraged all participants to cherish this cross-border study experience, preserve the friendships forged across borders, and maintain their shared commitment to working together for a sustainable future. He also hoped that participants would share their unique cross-border experience with others, enabling more overseas students to learn about and join such programmes and helping to sustain cross-border cultural and scientific exchanges.
