From July 6 to July 10, 2026, ICARE successfully delivered a special corporate training course entitled Lean Management-Develop Culture of Performance. The training was delivered by the Total Professors Association (TPA), affiliated with TotalEnergies, France. Participants included first- and second-year postgraduate students of ICARE, international summer school participants and representatives from partner enterprises, with a total attendance of more than 50.

Originating from the Toyota Production System, Lean Management centers on eliminating all forms of waste and delivering maximum value with minimum resources. Guided consistently by customer value, this management philosophy continuously removes all non-value-added activities from workflows so as to achieve the integrated goals of cost reduction, efficiency improvement and quality enhancement.

Delivered by Professor Yves JASSAUD, this one-week Lean Management training drew on his 38 years of experience in international groups in strategy, marketing and managing-director roles, including 13 years in international project management and 11 years as an expatriate in Benelux, India and Cambodia. Professor JASSAUD examined core lean principles such as value-stream optimization and waste elimination, and systematically explained a comprehensive set of practical management and analytical tools.

The curriculum incorporated a wide range of lively classroom exercises and interactive seminars, achieving a close integration of theory and practice. Combining professionalism with practical application, the course equipped participants with a clear roadmap for the on-the-ground implementation of Lean Management.
