Recently, the research team led by our Chinese supervisors, Professor Yuan Shushan and Professor Yang Jiakuan from the School of Environment, has published their latest research on high-performance ion-separation membranes in Science Advances. The paper is entitled Electrochemically tailored ion‑trapping nanoarchitectures in COF membranes for selective monovalent/divalent ion sieving. This study was jointly completed by the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of HUST and Hubei Key Laboratory of Multi‑media Pollution Cooperative Control in the Yangtze River Basin. Wang Jing, a PhD candidate from the School of Environment, serves as the first author, while Professor Yuan Shushan and Professor Yang Jiakuan are the co‑corresponding authors.

This work was carried out by the research team of Professor Yuan Shushan and Professor Yang Jiakuan, Chinese supervisors affiliated with ICARE. The team has long been devoted to research on membrane separation, resource recycling, pollution control and low-carbon technologies. Supported by research platforms including the Hubei Key Laboratory of Multi‑media Pollution Cooperative Control in the Yangtze River Basin, the group continues to advance studies on the structural design of covalent organic framework (COF) membranes, nanoconfined ion-transport mechanisms and resource-oriented separation applications.
